Dental Treatment and COVID-19

Dear Patients,

On 25th March 2020 Sara Hurley (Chief Dental Officer England) and Matt Neligan (Director of Primary Care and System transformation) released their latest statement on the rapidly developing COVID-19 pandemic.

We would like to update you on how this will affect our service provision at Dentalcare Group. The guidance is clear that all routine, non-urgent dental care, including orthodontic treatments must be deferred until advised otherwise. We are still here to support you and your dental needs through this unprecedented time.

We want to take this opportunity to reassure all our patients that we take the spread of the COVID-19 in the UK very seriously. The health and safety of our patients, staff and visitors to our dental practice is our main priority.

Here at Dentalcare Group we will be providing all our patients with a remote service during normal working hours. Our dentists will perform telephone triaging for: advice; analgesia; and antimicrobials (if appropriate) . We will not be able to see you at the practice.

If it is not possible to manage your symptoms remotely, you will have to be referred to a Local Urgent Dental Care Centre. Details of these are currently being established in our area and we will update you as soon as we have further information.

We will use our best professional judgement in the triaging process and work collaboratively with our Local Urgent Care system, possibly volunteering our expertise where necessary to help meet the demands imposed on this new emergency service.

Stay safe.

Cosmetic dental treatments at Dentalcare Pangbourne

Whether you’re looking to change the brightness of your smile, or cover up the cracks in your teeth, our cosmetic dental treatments can help.

Teeth whitening

Teeth whitening is a fast and easy way to update your smile and boost your confidence. We offer whitening options to be carried out at the surgery or at home in your own time. Either way, a stunning white smile is guaranteed!

Dental veneers

If you have chipped, uneven, cracked or heavily stained teeth, then dental veneers are an easy and fast way to improve the appearance of your teeth. They can also lengthen small teeth and disguise gaps in your teeth. Thin strips of porcelain which match your tooth colour, are carefully stuck to the top of your teeth, giving them a new look. The process is painless, fast and gives you instant results.

White fillings

Fillings are used to repair cavities and decay in teeth, they give strength and protection. White fillings are becoming more popular because they look natural and give a neater appearance to your mouth than the traditional amalgam fillings. White fillings can be matched to the natural colour of your teeth making them blend in.

Teeth straightening

Adult braces work discreetly and quickly to fix crooked, uneven and gappy teeth. They can also correct problems with an over, under or cross bite. At Pangbourne, we have different dental braces available and will help you in the decision making for which is best suitable for your teeth.

What Cosmetic Dentistry can do for you

There are many benefits to having cosmetic dental treatments. Cosmetic dentistry is worth considering if you:

  • Hate the way that your teeth look now, are embarrassed to smile or lacking in confidence
  • Are looking to update your appearance with a stunning new smile
  • Want to improve the look of your teeth quickly – most cosmetic dental treatments are fast and can be completed in one appointment. Orthodontic treatments are the exception to this rule and even the treatment time for dental braces has improved in recent years
  • Want to improve the appearance of your teeth painlessly. Most cosmetic dental treatments such as veneers, teeth whitening, and dental bonding are all completely painless. The latest forms of teeth straightening use braces to gently move teeth, so they aren’t painful. Even the other forms of cosmetic dental treatments such as dental implants and white fillings will use a local anaesthetic to numb the area that is being treated.

If you’re looking to update your smile, book a consultation with our cosmetic dentists to discuss which treatment is best for you.
